Athabasca's residential recycling program is changing to Circular Materials on October 1, 2026. Your regular recycling collection day is NOT changing. Residents will need to provide their own clear or blue see-through recycling bags. Recycling bins will not be used under the new program. The new program also accepts additional materials, including glass containers, foam packaging, plastic bags and film, snack wrappers, stand-up pouches and empty aerosol containers. Have recycling out by 7:00 a.m. on your regular collection day.
