Blowing snow: Later this evening into the overnight hours. Additional information: Strong west to northwest winds will continue in the wake of a sharp Arctic cold front. Winds will slowly begin to ease Tuesday morning. High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break. Local utility outages are possible. With the arrival of snow from a disturbance tracking northward over the area in the wake of the cold front, blowing and drifting snow is expected, especially in open areas tonight. Brief periods of reduced visibility due to lake effect snow and blowing snow. When: Tonight and then easing Tuesday morning. Additional information: Strong westerly winds are expected to slowly diminish Tuesday. In addition, lake effect flurries off Lake Huron and Georgian Bay are expected to extend well inland at times and may give brief periods of poor visibility due to heavier snow and blowing snow.
