yellow warning - snowfall - in effect

    del: 05/04/2026, 15:54
    a: 06/04/2026, 07:59

Snow at times heavy is expected, followed by ice pellets, freezing rain and rain showers. Locations: western, central, and northeastern Newfoundland. Time span: tonight. Total snowfall: 10 to 20 cm (some areas could see less than 10 cm where the period of ice pellets is more significant). Remarks: Snow, at times heavy, will continue to spread west to east across Newfoundland this evening then transition through ice pellets and freezing rain to rain or rain showers overnight or early Monday morning as temperatures rise. Rainfall amounts will be negligible with this system. Strong southeasterly winds will develop tonight causing a period of blowing snow with poor visibilities before the snow begins its transition. Consider adjusting travel plans to avoid the most adverse conditions. ### Roads and walkways will likely be difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Snowfall warnings are issued when significant impacts are expected due to snowfall accumulations. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to [email protected] or post reports on X using #NLwx.
