Red Flag Warning issued June 16 at 11:12AM MDT until June 17 at 9:00PM MDT by NWS Albuquerque NM

    Od: 16.06.2026, 11:12
    Do: 16.06.2026, 19:00

...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT THROUGH 7 PM MDT TODAY DUE TO STRONG WINDS AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR THE NORTHWEST PLATEAU... ...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH WEDNESDAY EVENING DUE TO STRONG WINDS AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR THE NORTHWEST PLATEAU, NORTH CENTRAL MOUNTAINS, SANDIA AND MANZANO MOUNTAINS, AND CENTRAL HIGHLANDS... ...FIRE WEATHER WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH WEDNESDAY EVENING DUE TO STRONG WINDS AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR THE WEST CENTRAL MOUNTAINS AND MIDDLE RIO GRANDE VALLEY... .Dry and windy conditions will continue to develop over the Northwest Plateau today with warmer temperatures. This will allow critical conditions to ensue as humidity plummets this afternoon. Winds will strengthen and spread farther south and southeast on Wednesday while temperatures turn even hotter. This will only increase the areal threat for critical fire weather. Right now, the confidence is high enough to warrant a Red Flag Warning across northwestern, north central, and portions of central New Mexico. Winds appear to be a bit more marginal in the Rio Grande valley and west central mountains, so a Fire Weather Watch remains in effect there for Wednesday. The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a Red Flag Warning...which is in effect from noon to 9 PM MDT Wednesday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect. * AFFECTED AREA...Northwest Plateau (Zone 101). * TIMING...Today, from 1 PM to 7 PM MDT. Another Red Flag Warning is in effect Wednesday from Noon through 9 PM MDT. * 20 FOOT WINDS...Northwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph today, increasing from 20 to 30 mph with occasional gusts to 40 mph on Wednesday. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...Minimum values between 5 and 9 percent. * IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
