Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Low-water crossings may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - The combination of a moist tropical airmass, a stalling front, and a broad area of low pressure over eastern Mexico will result in heavy rain. Isolated pockets with rain totals of 6-8 inches or more are possible with rain rates that could exceed 2-4 inches per hour at times. Numerous outbuildings and barns are surrounded, and flow approaches apartment buildings below Farm to Market 763. Kings Crossing Golf Course is at least 1/2 flooded. Water is within 3 feet of some homes. Water flows across Oso Parkway Road at 2 low areas in the extreme south portion of the Lakes Subdivision. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:15 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 17.6 feet. - Bankfull stage is 11.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late this morning to a crest of 25.2 feet just after midnight tonight at major flood stage. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars
through flooded areas.
Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
Even 6 inches of fast-moving flood water can knock you off your feet
and a depth of 2 feet will float your car. Never try to walk, swim,
or drive through such swift water. If you come upon flood waters,
stop, turn around and go another way.
Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
