FURTHER FLOODING POSSIBLE ACROSS PARTS OF THE GULF COUNTRY AND CAPE YORK PENINSULA Showers and thunderstorms with possible locally heavy falls will continue across Far North Queensland over the next few days, before contracting towards the Cape and Torres Strait into early next week. Further flooding is possible over the next few days across parts of the Flood Watch area. Catchments across the Flood Watch area are wet to saturated from recent rainfall, and will respond quickly to further heavy rainfall. Rapid river level rises and localised flooding are possible in areas of heavy rainfall. Disruption to transport routes is likely across parts of the Flood Watch area. Widespread minor to major flooding is continuing across large parts of Queensland, with multiple Flood Warnings current.
