A major winter storm is expected. What: Total snowfall and ice pellet accumulations of 10 to 20 cm, except 20 to 40 cm for areas north of Highway 17. Near zero visibility in heavy snow and blowing snow. Freezing rain with 6 to 12 mm of ice build-up. Northeasterly wind gusts of 70 to 80 km/h. When: Continuing through Monday night. Additional information: Rapidly accumulating snowfall will transition to freezing rain or ice pellets tonight. Travel on Highway 11 and Highway 17 will be significantly impacted. As temperatures rise above the freezing mark for some areas tonight into early Monday morning, precipitation may change over to rain. For areas expected to see significant rainfall, a Rainfall Warning is currently in effect. As colder air arrives in the wake of the system, all precipitation will become snow late Monday. ### Travel will likely be hazardous. Road closures are possible. Prolonged utility outages are likely.
