Urban areas may receive more significant flooding and property damage due to rapid runoff. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A trough continues to lay over the eastern half of the state within a very moist and fairly unstable environment. Energy moving up from the southwest may initiate return periods of moderate to locally heavy rainfall. This rain has a high probability of focusing on Maui and Hawaii Counties. Locally moderate to heavy showers, with possible isolated thunderstorms, may produce short-lived intense rain rates through the day.

Rain was falling at a rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour with the heaviest rain near Glenwood and Mountain View. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
