    * AFFECTED AREA...Eastern Glacier/Toole/Central/Eastern Pondera/Liberty, Hill and Blaine Counties, Lewis and Clark National Forest Rocky Mountain District-Rocky Mountain Front, Chouteau and Fergus Counties, Lincoln Ranger District of the Helena National Forest, Central and Eastern Lewis and Clark National Forest Areas and Helena and Townsend Ranger Districts of the Helena National Forest. * WINDS...West 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 45 mph. Along the Rocky Mountain Front, west winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph and isolated cases of 75 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 10 percent. * TEMPERATURES...Up to 104. * COLD FRONT...A series of dry cold fronts will push through the area. The first will be this evening, with a second cold front arriving Sunday evening. * IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will spread rapidly. Containment of any ongoing or new fires may be very difficult. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.     * WHAT...High temperatures up to 102 degrees expected. * WHERE...Portions of central, north central, and southwest Montana. * WHEN...Until 3 AM MDT Sunday. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses.

    • Lewis and Clark,Helena Valley
    • Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. If you must spend time outdoors, wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
