    At 951 PM CDT, local law enforcement reported flooding in Raytown, with several side roads flooded. Though the heavy rainfall has ended, additional storms are possible later tonight, which may exacerbate flooding. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain. SOURCE...Law enforcement reported. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Kansas City, Overland Park, Independence, Lee's Summit, Leawood, Raytown, Grandview, Belton, Prairie Village, Fairway, Mission Hills, Sugar Creek, Westwood, Westwood Hills, Mission Woods, Roeland Park and Unity Village.

Southwestern Jackson County in west central Missouri... * WHEN...Until midnight CDT tonight. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 749 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 2 inches are expected over the area.
