Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Abundant moisture has moved into the region and scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms will redevelop Wednesday afternoon and continue into the overnight hours. Many areas west of the Rio Grande have received a half inch up to 2 inches of rainfall over recent days, so any additional rainfall could lead to flash flooding. * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...The southern Gila Region in southwestern New Mexico, including most of northern Grant County, and far western Sierra County near the Black Range. * WHEN...Through late Wednesday night. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Increasing upper level moisture and a series of upper level disturbances will lead to rounds of thunderstorms capable of producing torrential downpours. Most of the Gila region has received 1 to 3 inches of rain in recent days, therefore any additional heavy rain could lead to flash flooding. Thunderstorms may be slow to initiate in the higher terrain this afternoon, but will become more numerous during the evening and late night hours.
