    * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of central, northeast, northern, southeast, and southern West Virginia, including the following counties, in central West Virginia, Braxton, Calhoun, Clay, Gilmer, Jackson WV, Roane and Taylor. In northeast West Virginia, Northwest Pocahontas, Northwest Randolph, Northwest Webster, Southeast Pocahontas, Southeast Randolph and Southeast Webster. In northern West Virginia, Barbour, Doddridge, Harrison, Lewis, Pleasants, Ritchie, Tyler, Upshur, Wirt and Wood. In southeast West Virginia, Northwest Fayette, Northwest Nicholas, Northwest Raleigh, Southeast Fayette, Southeast Nicholas and Southeast Raleigh. In southern West Virginia, Boone, Kanawha, Lincoln, Logan, McDowell, Putnam and Wyoming. * WHEN...Through this evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Abundant moisture will make showers and thunderstorms rather efficient rainfall producers that could prompt flash flooding across portions of the area. Most susceptible will be poor- drainage areas and locations impacted by training storms. - Some locations that may experience flooding include...     Locations impacted include... Charleston, Spencer, Chesapeake, Marmet, Belle, Pinch, Coal Fork, Elkview, Harmony, Walton, and Gandeeville. This includes the following highways... Interstate 79 between mile markers 4 and 18. Interstate 77 in West Virginia between mile markers 96 and 99. West Virginia Turnpike between mile markers 88 and 95. Heavy rain may cause ponding of water on roadways and water problems in low-lying areas. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to travel across flooded roads. Find alternate routes. It takes only a few inches of swiftly flowing water to carry vehicles away.
