    The National Weather Service in Riverton has issued a Red Flag Warning, which is in effect from 1 PM to 9 PM MDT Sunday. the Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect. * IMPACTS: Low Humidities...Hot Temperatures...and Strong Gusty Winds could cause erratic fire behavior. * AFFECTED AREA: In Central WY Fire Zones...283...285. In North Central WY Fire Zones...275...276...282. * COUNTIES AFFECTED: In Central WY...Fremont...Natrona. In North Central WY...Big Horn...Hot Springs...Johnson...Park Washakie. * WIND: West 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph. * HUMIDITY: 5 to 10 percent. * TEMPERATURES: Highs in the upper 90s to low 100s.

Highs from 98 to 105 below 5500 feet, 90 to 98 above 5500 feet. * WHERE...Portions of central, north central, northwest, south central, southwest, and west central Wyoming. * WHEN...Until 10 PM MDT Sunday. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase during extreme heat events. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Some locations will not see temperatures fall below 90 degrees until sunset.

    • Drink plenty of hydrating fluids, take breaks in air-conditioned spaces, reduce time in the sun, and check on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to late evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
