White River at Elliston. ...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Indiana... Illinois... White River at Hazleton. White River at Petersburg. Wabash River at Mount Carmel. .Multiple rounds of heavy rainfall over the last couple of days has brought widespread minor lowland flooding along the middle and lower White River and will flow downstream to bring minor flooding to the Wabash River at Mount Carmel as well. The crest on the White is near Spencer, and on the lower White flooding is expected to last through at least next week. More rounds of rainfall going into and through the holiday weekend could make the flooding last even longer and bring higher crests for downriver points. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Wabash River at Mount Carmel. * WHEN...From late Friday night to Friday, May 29. * IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, River is bankfull in all locations. All oil field production ceases with the exception of pumping units on substructures. Access to these are by boat only. Agricultural losses increase dramatically. Farmers move livestock to higher ground. City of Mount Carmel leaves flood gates B and C in year round. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 11:45 AM EDT Thursday /10:45 AM CDT Thursday/ the stage was 17.4 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage early Saturday morning to a crest of 20.4 feet early Monday afternoon.
