At 11:20 am on March 16, 2026, Tengchong Meteorological Observatory issued a yellow warning signal for lightning: in the next 6 hours, towns (streets) such as Mazhan, Qushi, Zhonghe, Hehua, Qingshui, Heshun, Tengyue, Xiyuan, Beihai, Mangbang, Wuhe, Xinhua, Puchuan, and Tuantian will experience lightning activity, accompanied by short-term heavy rainfall, hail, strong winds and other severe convective weather.
