Freezing rain with ice build-up of 6 to 12 mm. Northeasterly wind gusts of 70 to 80 km/h. When: Continuing through Monday. Additional information: Rapidly accumulating snowfall will transition to ice pellets and freezing rain after midnight. ### Travel will likely be extremely hazardous and some routes will likely be impassable. Road closures are possible. Prolonged, widespread utility outages are likely. Roofs are at an increased risk of collapse under the weight of snow. Winter storm to kick off the week What: - 20 to 40 centimetres of snow expected - near-zero visibilities in heavy snow and blowing snow - 5 to 10 millimetres of freezing rain in Abitibi-Témiscamingue When: late today until Tuesday morning Additional information: Precipitation will begin as snow, then gradually change over to ice pellets, and then to freezing rain on Monday morning. On Monday afternoon, a brief period of rain is expected before precipitation changes back to snow, reducing remaining accumulations on the ground. ### Roads and walkways will likely be very difficult to navigate.
