* WHAT...The Flood Watch remains in effect for southwestern New Mexico and far west Texas through Wednesday evening. * WHERE...Southwestern New Mexico and far west Texas. * WHEN...Through 7PM this evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A late season plume of deep tropical moisture is transported northward ahead of an upper-level disturbance, bringing several rounds of thunderstorms with high rainfall rates to the region through this evening. Repeated thunderstorms may result in isolated to scattered instances of flash flooding. - A broad swath of moderate to locally heavy rainfall is likely to affect most of the Watch area now through this evening, with typical, scattered monsoon season flood impacts. However, there is increasing potential for a narrow band of repeated thunderstorms which will result in particularly heavy rainfall amounts, possibly exceeding 3 inches in a 6 to 12 hour period, resulting in higher-end impacts. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
