    THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED TORNADO WATCH 351 UNTIL 5 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON WHICH REPLACES A PORTION OF TORNADO WATCH 348. THE NEW WATCH IS VALID FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN LOUISIANA THE NEW WATCH INCLUDES 2 PARISHES IN SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA ST. TAMMANY WASHINGTON IN MISSISSIPPI THE NEW WATCH INCLUDES 4 COUNTIES IN SOUTHERN MISSISSIPPI HANCOCK HARRISON JACKSON PEARL RIVER THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF BAY ST. LOUIS, BOGALUSA, COVINGTON, CROSSROADS, DIAMONDHEAD, ENON, FRANKLINTON, GAUTIER, GULFPORT, LACOMBE, MANDEVILLE, MCNEIL, MOSS POINT, OCEAN SPRINGS, PASCAGOULA, PICAYUNE, SLIDELL, ST. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms with locally very heavy rainfall are expected today and potentially continuing through tonight. Central St. Tammany Parish in southeastern Louisiana... * Until 1130 AM CDT. * At 918 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 4 and 7 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Radar indicated.     The areas affected include... Lake Pontchartrain... At 942 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated a cluster of showers, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots and weak waterspouts. This cluster of showers is generally located 7 nm northwest of Kenner, moving northeast at 35 knots.

    • A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 500 PM CDT for southeastern Louisiana. Mariners can expect widespread gusty winds to around 30 knots and higher waves. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until this activity passes. Brief, weak waterspouts are possible with this activity. Remain on alert in case warnings are issued for waterspout development.
