For the High Rip Current Risk, dangerous rip currents expected. * WHERE...Kings (Brooklyn), Southwest Suffolk, Southeast Suffolk, Southern Queens and Southern Nassau Counties. * WHEN...For the High Surf Advisory, from 6 AM this morning to 9 PM EDT this evening. For the High Rip Current Risk, from 6 AM EDT this morning through this evening. * IMPACTS...Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion. Life-threatening rip currents are likely for all people entering the surf zone. Anyone visiting the beaches should stay out of the surf. Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Highest surf along the ocean beaches of Suffolk County. Moderate to high rip current expected on Wednesday.

    * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of southeast New York, including the following county, Suffolk. * WHEN...Until 200 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1052 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain, with embedded thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen over the last 6 hours. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area through 2 pm. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
