* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is ongoing. * WHERE...A portion of south central Kansas, including the following counties, Cowley, Harper, Kingman and Sumner. * WHEN...Until 800 AM CDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is occurring. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 354 PM CDT, local law enforcement reported flooding in the warned area due to heavy rain from thunderstorms from Thursday night. Between 1 and 6 inches of rain fell Thursday night. - Flooding impacts will continue. A few showers and storms will be possible through Friday night and could lead to additional flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Arkansas City, Winfield, Wellington, Mulvane, Kingman, Anthony, Belle Plaine, Harper, Conway Springs, Caldwell, Oxford, Udall, Attica, Burden, Argonia, Norwich, Cunningham, South Haven, Dexter and Atlanta.

In southeast Kansas, Allen, Chautauqua, Elk, Greenwood, Labette, Montgomery, Neosho, Wilson and Woodson. * WHEN...From 7 PM CDT this evening through early Saturday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A gradual uptick in isolated to scattered thunderstorms is expected this evening through tonight across the watch area. While not everyone will see a thunderstorm, and widespread heavy rainfall appears unlikely at this time, additional localized pockets of heavy rainfall will only aggravate or re-aggravate ongoing flooding concerns across the region.

Walnut River at Winfield affecting Cowley and Butler Counties. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Walnut River at Winfield. * WHEN...Until Monday afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 28.0 feet, West 14th Avenue near the fairgrounds, floods from the river on eastward to the levee. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 10:00 PM CDT Friday the stage was 23.4 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 28.3 feet early Sunday morning. It will then fall below flood stage early Monday morning. - Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
