* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with high temperatures of 100 to 108 expected. * WHERE...Portions of central, south central, and southeast Montana and north central Wyoming. * WHEN...From noon today to midnight MDT tonight. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat events. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Low temperatures are expected to be in the 70s for some locations east of Billings tonight bringing limited overnight relief. Sunday will be a little cooler but still hot with high temperatures in the mid 90s.
Sweet Grass,Northern Sweet Grass
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young
children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach
lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.
When outside, wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to
limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take frequent
rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Be alert for
symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Heat stroke is an
emergency! Call 9 1 1.

Along the Rocky Mountain Front, west winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph and isolated cases of 75 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 9 percent. * TEMPERATURES...Up to 104. * COLD FRONT...A strong, dry cold front will arrive Saturday evening. * IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will spread rapidly.
