FURTHER FLOODING POSSIBLE ACROSS PARTS OF THE GULF COUNTRY AND CAPE YORK PENINSULA A trough and moist tropical airmass lingers from the Gulf Coast across the base of Cape York Peninsula. This trough may bring moderate to locally heavy rainfall across parts of the Cape York Peninsula and Gulf Country that will begin to ease from Sunday. Further flooding is possible over the next few days across parts of the Flood Watch area. Catchments across the Flood Watch area are wet to saturated from recent rainfall, and will respond quickly to further heavy rainfall. Rapid river level rises and localised flooding are possible in areas of heavy rainfall. Disruption to transport routes is likely across parts of the Flood Watch area. Widespread minor to major flooding is continuing across large parts of Queensland, with multiple Flood Warnings current.
