    Red warning - tornado - in effect At 7:10 p.m. CST, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm that is possibly producing a tornado. Damaging winds, large hail and locally intense rainfall are also possible. Tornado Location: Near Chitek Lake Motion: Moving northeast at 20 km/h Hazards: - Tornadoes - Wind: damaging (90 - 110 km/h) - Hail: loonie to ping pong ball size (2.5 to 4.5 cm) - Rain: heavy (15 - 50 mm) ### This is a very dangerous and potentially life-threatening situation. Tornado warnings are issued when a thunderstorm is producing or is likely to produce a tornado.

    • Take cover immediately in a basement, interior room, or a sturdy shelter when threatening weather approaches. If no shelter is available, lie in a low spot and protect your head from flying debris. If you are out on the water when threatening weather approaches, return to shore and seek shelter, if possible, or move directly away from the path of the tornado. Otherwise, wear your lifejacket, lie face down and protect your head.

    Yellow warning - severe thunderstorm - in effect At 7:33 p.m. CST, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a cluster of severe thunderstorms capable of producing damaging wind gusts, up to quarter size hail and heavy rain. Thunderstorm Locations: From about 30km west of Chitek Lake to Lowther Lake Motion: Moving northeast at 30 km/h Hazards: - Wind: damaging (90 - 110 km/h) - Hail: up to quarter size (up to 2.5 cm) - Rain: heavy (15 - 50 mm) ### Heavy rain may cause flash flooding and significant reductions to visibility. Large hail may cause significant damage and injury. Severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are expected to produce damaging hail, wind or rain.
