    * WHAT...High temperatures of 99 to 110 for the interior valleys. Moderate to Major HeatRisk expected. * WHERE...Northeastern Interior Humboldt. * WHEN...Until 10 PM PDT Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses especially for those without cooling or hydration.

    • Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.

    * WHAT...High astronomical tides will cause minor flooding in low lying areas around Humboldt Bay. Up to one half foot of saltwater inundation above ground level is possible near shorelines and tidal waterways. Between 9.0 and 9.2 feet MLLW at the North Spit tide gauge is predicted. * WHERE...Northern Coastal Humboldt County. * WHEN...From 9 PM Sunday to 1 AM PDT Monday. High tide is at 10:32 PM at the Humboldt Bay North Spit tide gauge. Saltwater inundation will be possible 1 to 2 hours before and after high tide. * IMPACTS...Flooding of low lying areas around Humboldt Bay including parks and roads with only isolated closures expected. Flooding will likely impact Jackson Ranch Road in the Arcata Bottoms and several roads in King Salmon. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Similar magnitude high tides are forecast to continue through Tuesday, June 16th.
