Localised flooding of roads, low-lying bridges in predominantly informal/formal settlements, damage to property and infrastructure is possible. Localised disruption to essential services such as electricity and water can occur. Difficult driving conditions, especially on dirt roads as well as localised disruption of traffic flow is likely. Localised mudslides and rockfalls may also occur in susceptible areas.

Be cautious on roads, avoid crossing rivers and swollen streams where water is above your ankles. If trapped in a vehicle during a flood, abandon it and climb to higher ground. In buildings, move valuables to a safe place above the expected flood level. Switch off electricity at the supply point to the building. Be especially cautious at night when it's harder to recognize flood dangers. Listen to the radio or TV for warnings and obey the instructions from disaster management officers.

Damage to coastal infrastructure and disruption to beachfront activities is possible. The public is at risk of being swept off coastal rocks due to large waves. Difficulty in navigation at sea is likely that may result in small vessels and personal water craft taking on water and capsizing in locality.
