WIDESPREAD MINOR TO MAJOR FLOODING OCCURRING ACROSS QUEENSLAND WITH FURTHER FLOODING POSSIBLE ACROSS PARTS OF THE GULF COUNTRY AND CAPE YORK PENINSULA The remnants of the tropical low that brought widespread rainfall across Queensland have now moved offshore. Widespread minor to major flooding is occurring across large parts of Queensland. A trough and moist tropical airmass will linger across the southern Gulf Coast and Cape York Peninsula over coming days, which may bring further heavy rainfall across parts of the Cape York Peninsula and Gulf Country. This is likely to lead to further flooding over the next few days. Catchments across the Flood Watch area are wet to saturated from recent rainfall, and will respond quickly to further heavy rainfall. Rapid river level rises and localised flooding are possible in areas of heavy rainfall. Disruption to transport routes is likely across parts of the Flood Watch area. Multiple minor to major Flood Warnings are current across Queensland.
