WIDESPREAD MINOR TO MAJOR FLOODING CONTINUING ACROSS QUEENSLAND WITH FURTHER FLOODING POSSIBLE ACROSS PARTS OF THE GULF COUNTRY AND CAPE YORK PENINSULA A trough and moist tropical airmass will linger across the southern Gulf Coast and Cape York Peninsula over coming days, which may bring moderate to locally heavy rainfall across parts of the Cape York Peninsula and Gulf Country. This may lead to further flooding over the next few days. Catchments across the Flood Watch area are wet to saturated from recent rainfall, and will respond quickly to further heavy rainfall. Rapid river level rises and localised flooding are possible in areas of heavy rainfall. Disruption to transport routes is likely across parts of the Flood Watch area. Widespread minor to major flooding is continuing across large parts of Queensland, with multiple Flood Warnings current.
