*Update* The Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority has issued a Flood Watch for the Niagara Peninsula Watershed *Update*

    부터: 2026.03.09, 10:47
    에게: 2026.03.13, 12:00

This notice is intended to advise the public and local municipalities of the potential for flooding within the NPCA's jurisdiction as it relates to the Niagara Peninsula, the southeastern portion of the City of Hamilton and the eastern portion of Haldimand County. Be advised the NPCA is upgrading the local flood status from a Flood Outlook to a Flood Watch in wake of ongoing wet weather conditions and elevated flows in local waterways. In some areas of the Niagara watershed, particularly 20 Mile Creek in West Lincoln and near the escarpment, water levels remain high and near local flood elevations. Due to melting snowpack and recent rainfall, soils across the watershed remain saturated which leads to higher runoff potential from upcoming rain. Current forecasts indicate 35 - 55 mm of precipitation beginning Tuesday evening and continuing all day Wednesday. This rain on top of current soil and water level conditions will likely lead to localized flooding in flood prone areas. Residents are urged to stay away from creeks, rivers and all waterbodies at this time due to slippery slopes and elevated water levels as they can be hazardous. Residents are encouraged to ensure drainage on their property is not hindered by blocked culverts, catch basins or ditches. Municipal and Regional staff are also advised to check local storm infrastructure to ensure that they are not blocked.

    • Follow the directions of local authorities and look for any updates on the situation. Stay away from creeks and rivers due to hazardous slopes and elevated water levels and high flows. Ensure proper drainage is occurring on your property. Municipalities are advised to check for debris blocking storm infrastructure.
