At 18:15 on July 16, 2026, the Emin County Meteorological Observatory issued an orange drought warning signal: According to the comprehensive meteorological drought index monitoring, as of July 16, the meteorological drought in the towns and villages in the northern part of Emin County and various regimental farms of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps has reached a severe drought level, while some areas of suburban towns, Erdaoqiao, Lamazhao and other towns, as well as the 170th regiment of the 9th Division of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps and the Tuanjie Farm have reached a severe drought level. It is expected that there will be no effective precipitation in Emin County in the coming week, and most areas will experience high temperatures above 35 ℃. The meteorological drought will further intensify. Relevant departments and units are requested to do a good job in defending against drought according to their responsibilities.
