protect containers, tanks, and other vessels holding flammable vapors or liquefied gases under pressure from direct sunlight by storing them in the shade.

stay away from objects connected to the outside—especially metal ones that could conduct electricity (power, telephone, or TV cables, water pipes, etc.)—as well as windows and doors (which should be kept closed);
unplug household appliances from the electrical mains;
avoid taking shelter under tall trees (especially isolated ones);
if no safe shelter is available in an open field, the best position is to crouch with your knees against your chest (to prevent electric current from passing through vital organs), while staying away from other people or animals;
