    Flood Watch for Jardine River

    no: 17.03.2026, 13:26
    uz: 18.03.2026, 19:26

RENEWED MINOR TO ISOLATED MODERATE FLOODING POSSIBLE FROM THURSDAY ASSOCIATED WITH DEVELOPING TROPICAL LOW FLOODING CONTINUES ACROSS PARTS OF THE FLOOD WATCH AREA

Tropical Low 34U in the Coral Sea will move westwards towards the Far North Queensland coast over the next few days, and has a high chance of developing into a tropical cyclone. As the system approaches, heavy rainfall is forecast to develop across far northern Queensland and the North Tropical Coast from late Wednesday or Thursday. This rainfall may cause renewed minor to isolated moderate flooding in the Flood Watch area from Thursday.

Catchments across the Flood Watch area are saturated to wet from recent rainfall, and are expected to respond quickly to further heavy rainfall. River level rises and minor to isolated moderate flooding is possible in areas of heavy rainfall from Thursday. Disruption to transport routes is likely across parts of the Flood Watch area.

Widespread minor to major flooding continues across large parts of Queensland, with multiple Flood Warnings current.
