...Critical Fire Weather This Afternoon... .Winds from the south this afternoon and early evening are forecast to be around 15-25 MPH sustained with gusts up to 35 MPH. RH values will dry to around 15% as temperatures warm into the 70s. Overnight gusts are forecast to be around 25-35 MPH, but RH values will climb to over 50%, allowing some mild recovery. Friday morning, a strong cold front will move through the area. Behind the front, winds from the northwest will be gusting in the 30-50 MPH range most of the day. In the afternoon, RH values will drop into the mid teens. The National Weather Service in Goodland has issued a Fire Weather Watch for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect Friday afternoon. * AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zones 013 Sherman, 014 Thomas, 015 Sheridan and 252 Yuma. * TIMING...Friday afternoon. * WINDS...Northwest 25 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 15 percent. * IMPACTS...Unpredictable fire behavior.
