Elevated areas and areas close to the coast will see maximum temperatures in the high twenties to high thirties with overnight minimum temperatures in the high teens to mid twenties. Severe heatwave conditions will persist and intensify into the weekend and early next week. Locations likely to be impacted include Aurukun, Kowanyama, Pormpuraaw and Weipa.
