    Prolonged atmospheric river event bringing heavy snow followed by periods of heavy rain. Where: - Whistler - Sea to Sky Highway north of Brandywine What & When: - Snowfall with total amounts of 15 to 20 cm is expected by midday today. - Periods of heavy rain beginning this afternoon to Wednesday with total amounts near 50 to 70 mm. Impacts: -Snow followed by heavy rain on snow combined with mountain snow melt may lead to very enhanced responses in river systems and potential for flooding. -Extensive water pooling on roads and washouts may occur. -Enhanced risk of landslides due to saturation of landscapes. Remarks: An atmospheric river will remain over the B.C. South Coast until Wednesday morning. Snow, at times heavy, will continue this morning with additional snowfall accumulations of 5 to 10 cm. With freezing levels rising to 1500 to 2000 metres this afternoon, the snow is expected to change to periods of heavy rain near midday and continue to Wednesday morning. The heaviest rainfall is expected tonight and Tuesday night. ### Roads and walkways will likely be difficult to navigate. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
