Gusty winds could bring down tree branches. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Rain showers will change to snow showers this afternoon, with bands of locally heavy lake effect snow expected to develop tonight as arctic air moves into the region. The lake effect snow will persist into Tuesday before gradually tapering off. The snowfall amounts will depend on the placement and duration of the most persistent snow bands. In addition, west winds will continue to gust to 35 to 45 mph at times tonight and Tuesday morning leading to blowing snow and poor visibility where the bands persist.
