Moderate flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Tonawanda Creek at Rapids. * WHEN...From Thursday morning to early Saturday morning. * IMPACTS...At 14.0 feet, Moderate flood, some residential flooding with widespread road closures in North Clarence, east into Newstead and Royalton. Water begins to back up into smaller creeks such as Ransom, Black, Beeman, Gott, and Mud Creeks. Flooding in some low lying areas along Tonawanda Creek Road, Rapids Road, and Wolcott Road, with widespread farmland flooding. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 5:00 PM EDT Wednesday the stage was 9.29 feet. - Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late tomorrow morning to a crest of 14.5 feet early Friday morning. Also some flooding along the flood control project area in Amherst such as the bike path and golf course. Minor flooding in Ellicott Creek Park. Little or no overall damage. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 5:15 PM EDT Wednesday the stage was 7.72 feet. - Bankfull stage is 8.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage this evening to a crest of 8.7 feet just after midnight tonight.
