    * WHAT...Heat index values up to 112 expected. * WHERE...Portions of southeast Alabama, Big Bend and Panhandle Florida, and south central and southwest Georgia. * WHEN...From 11 AM EDT /10 AM CDT/ this morning to 7 PM EDT /6 PM CDT/ this evening. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.

    • Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sunshine, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening.Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when possible. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.

    At 542 PM EDT/442 PM CDT/, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Ozark to 9 miles northwest of Chattahoochee to 11 miles south of Cairo. Movement was southeast at 30 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Tallahassee, Daleville, Monticello, Cottonwood, Quincy, Havana, Marianna, Headland, Dothan, Bainbridge, Midway, Cairo, Fort Rucker, Ozark, Thomasville, Donalsonville, Taylor, Midland City, Kinsey, and Ashford.

    • If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio stations and available television stations for additional information and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

    * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of southeast Alabama, including the following counties, Dale, Henry and Houston. * WHEN...Until 815 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Overflowing poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 512 PM CDT, the public reported flooding in ditches in the advisory area due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Dothan, Headland, Ozark, Fort Rucker, Midland City, Newton, Pinckard, Kinsey, Grimes, Napier Field, Currytown, Kelly Springs, Sylvan Grove, W.
