Yellow watch - severe thunderstorm - in effect A developing low pressure system in southern Alberta is drawing warm, moist, unstable air into southwestern Saskatchewan this evening. These conditions will be favourable for the development of thunderstorms, some which may become severe. These storms will be capable of producing very strong wind gusts, hail and heavy rainfall. Isolated thunderstorms are expected to develop early this evening and move east-southeast. Thunderstorms will continue into the late evening hours before weakening after sunset. ### Local utility outages are possible. Damage to roofs, fences, branches or soft shelters is possible. Strong wind gusts can damage trees, buildings and overturn vehicles. Large hail can cause significant damage and injury. Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms capable of producing damaging hail, wind or rain.
