    * WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 106 expected. * WHERE...The Champlain Valley of New York and Vermont, as well as eastern Windsor county in Vermont. * WHEN...From noon Wednesday to 7 PM EDT Friday. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The highest heat index values will occur between 1 PM and 5 PM daily from Wednesday through Friday.

    • Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
