* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is ongoing. * WHERE...A portion of south central Kansas, including the following counties, Cowley, Harper, Kingman and Sumner. * WHEN...Until 800 AM CDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is occurring. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 354 PM CDT, local law enforcement reported flooding in the warned area due to heavy rain from thunderstorms from Thursday night. Between 1 and 6 inches of rain fell Thursday night. - Flooding impacts will continue. A few showers and storms will be possible through Friday night and could lead to additional flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Arkansas City, Winfield, Wellington, Mulvane, Kingman, Anthony, Belle Plaine, Harper, Conway Springs, Caldwell, Oxford, Udall, Attica, Burden, Argonia, Norwich, Cunningham, South Haven, Dexter and Atlanta.

Walnut River at Winfield affecting Cowley and Butler Counties. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Walnut River at Arkansas City. * WHEN...Until late Monday morning. * IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, Considerable flooding of farmland is expected. Widespread flooding of the park just upstream of the gage site is anticipated. East Chestnut Avenue east of By-pass is closed due to water over roadway. Greens Farm Road floods between Highway 166 north to Dunbar Hill. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1:15 AM CDT Saturday the stage was 20.3 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 21.2 feet this evening. It will then fall below flood stage late tomorrow evening. - Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
