The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a Red Flag Warning for gusty winds, low relative humidity and dry fuels, which is in effect from noon to 10 PM MDT Sunday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect. * AFFECTED AREA...In Utah, Fire Weather Zone 487 Book Cliffs, Fire Weather Zone 490 Colorado River Basin and Fire Weather Zone 491 Southeast Utah. * TIMING...For the first Red Flag Warning, until midnight MDT Saturday night. For the second Red Flag Warning, from noon to 10 PM MDT Sunday. * WINDS...Southwest 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...7 to 12 percent. * IMPACTS...Elevated fire danger is expected. Fires will catch and spread rapidly and erratically.

THIS ALSO INCLUDES THE COTTONWOOD FIRE... * AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zone 489 San Rafael Swell, Fire Weather Zone 494 Henry Mountains and Fire Weather Zone 498 Grand Staircase. * WINDS...Southwest 20 to 30 mph. Gusts will be as high as 45 mph this afternoon and evening, then increase to as high as 50 mph Saturday afternoon and evening, and remain as high as 45 mph Sunday afternoon and evening. Winds will decrease but remain elevated Friday night and Saturday night. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 5 to 10 percent each afternoon and evening. Little to no recovery Friday night.
