High winds are forecasted to begin on September 14, 2026 and continue until September 15, 2026, at 4:00 PM. Wind speeds of 45 to 60 kilometers an hour, increasing to 65 to 75 early Tuesday morning with gusts of up 85 to 95 are forecasted for Monday into Tuesday. These winds and wave activity on Lake Winnipeg, particularly along the western shorelines, including the shorelines near Gimli to Riverton, could raise water levels as much as 5 feet or more with significant wave actions expected, posing a potential threat to lakeside infrastructure and property.
