A band of mixed snow, sleet, and freezing rain will continue to spread northeast across the area this afternoon. While both snow and ice amounts will remain minimal, a glaze of ice and snow is expected to develop on roads this afternoon, especially those secondary and untreated road surfaces. Temperatures are expected to rise to a few degrees above freezing by early this evening, ending the snow and freezing rain threat. Motorists are urged to slow down and use extra caution this afternoon.
