* WHAT...Large breaking waves of 9 to 11 feet. * WHERE...North facing reefs of Pohnpei, and north and east facing reefs of Kosrae. * WHEN...Until 3 AM ChST Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Northeasterly swell emanating from a large fetch region northwest of a Kona Low (well northeast of the region) is reaching Micronesia with a higher than average wave period. Hazardous surf is expected along north-facing reefs of Pohnpei and north- and east-facing reefs of Kosrae. The advisory is in effect through Wednesday, however, this will likely need to be extended as a strong low pressure system near Japan continues to move eastward and is also expected to produce another set of northerly swell for the region.
