THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 528 IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM MDT THIS EVENING FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN COLORADO THIS WATCH INCLUDES 11 COUNTIES IN EAST CENTRAL COLORADO ELBERT LINCOLN IN NORTHEAST COLORADO ADAMS ARAPAHOE DOUGLAS LOGAN MORGAN PHILLIPS SEDGWICK WASHINGTON WELD THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF AKRON, AURORA, CASTLE ROCK, CENTENNIAL, ELIZABETH, FORT MORGAN, GREELEY, HOLYOKE, JULESBURG, KIOWA, LIMON, PARKER, STERLING, THORNTON, WESTMINSTER, AND WINDSOR.

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of east central and northeast Colorado, including the following areas: all of Logan, Washington, Morgan, and Lincoln Counties, and the eastern portions of Elbert, Adams, Arapahoe, and Weld Counties. * WHEN...Until 10 PM MDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Low-water crossings may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Strong thunderstorms with torrential rainfall will be possible in the Watch area late this afternoon and evening. Rainfall rates greater than 2 inches in just 30-45 minutes can be expected from the stronger storms.

Southeastern Arapahoe County in northeastern Colorado... * WHEN...Until 515 PM MDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 318 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Bennett, Manila Village and Strasburg.
