Average rainfall amounts are forecast to range from 1 to 2 inches. Locally higher amounts up to around 3 inches possible. For the Saddle River...including Lodi...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Saddle River near Lodi. * WHEN...From this morning to this afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 5.5 feet, Saddle River begins to overflow into the back parking lot of the Boys and Girls club. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:45 AM EDT Sunday the stage was 5.2 feet. - Bankfull stage is 5.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage this afternoon to a crest of 5.7 feet this afternoon. Between 1.5 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Overflowing poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 927 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area.
