Wind gusts will peak between 35 and 40 mph as humidities plummet below 10% for several hours. Decided to cancel the Red Flag Warning for the northeast plains. Higher low level moisture will mix out this afternoon thanks to southwest winds. However, winds are expected to remain below criteria across the majority of the zone. Near critical to locally critical fire weather conditions will exist in eastern San Miguel County, the southwest portion of the zone. * AREA AND TIMING...East Central Plains (Zone 126), and Northeast and Central Highlands (Zones 123 and 125) today from 11 AM to 8 PM MDT. * 20 FOOT WINDS...West-southwest winds 15 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph. Wind gusts will locally reach 45 mph near Clines Corners. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...5 to 9 percent. * IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
