The risk of severe weather will diminish late this evening. ### Driving conditions may be difficult. Local utility outages are possible. Damage to roofs, fences, branches or soft shelters is possible. Heavy rain can cause flash flooding and significant reductions to visibility. Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms capable of producing damaging hail, wind or rain. At 7:06 p.m. CDT, a line of severe thunderstorms is located from Gardenton to Winnipeg then to Stonewall. These severe thunderstorms are moving east at 40 km/h. Damaging wind gusts, loonie to ping pong ball size hail and very heavy rain are possible. Locations and nearby areas that could be impacted include: Winnipeg, Steinbach, Selkirk ### Fast-moving and rapidly rising water can sweep vehicles away and damage infrastructure. Heavy rain may cause flash flooding and significant reductions to visibility. Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are expected to produce damaging hail, wind or rain. Severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes.
