Red warning - tornado - in effect At 5:15 p.m. CDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm that is possibly producing a tornado. Damaging winds, large hail and locally intense rainfall are also possible. Location: About 25 km east of Justice Additional Hazards: Wind: damaging (90 - 110 km/h) Hail: baseball size or greater (≥ 7 cm) Rain: very heavy (50 - 100 mm) Motion: Moving east at 45 km/h Locations in the Path: Wellwood Gregg Seton Provincial Park Edrans Firdale ### This is a very dangerous and potentially life-threatening situation. Tornado warnings are issued when a thunderstorm is producing or is likely to produce a tornado.

Take cover immediately in a basement, interior room, or a sturdy shelter when threatening weather approaches. If no shelter is available, lie in a low spot and protect your head from flying debris. If you are out on the water when threatening weather approaches, return to shore and seek shelter, if possible. Otherwise, move away from the path of the tornado to escape. Wear your lifejacket, lie face down and protect your head.

Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms which may produce tornadoes. Strong winds, large hail and heavy rain are also possible. Hazards: Tornado Hail up to 7 cm in diameter Wind gusts to 110 km/h Local rainfall amounts in excess of 50 mm Timing: This afternoon and this evening. Additional Information: Multiple thunderstorms are expected to form and develop rapidly along a warm front over southeastern Saskatchewan and southwestern Manitoba late this afternoon. Significant severe weather including tornadoes is likely, continuing into the evening hours. ### Significant damage or destruction to infrastructure, homes and the natural environment is possible. Tornado watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms capable of producing tornadoes. Leave mobile homes, vehicles, tents, trailers and other temporary or free-standing shelter, and move to a strong building if you can. As a last resort, lie in a low spot and protect your head from flying debris. Be prepared for severe weather. If you hear a roaring sound or see a funnel cloud, swirling debris near the ground, flying debris, or any threatening weather approaching, take cover immediately. When out on the water, be prepared for severe weather. If threatening weather approaches make for shore and take shelter immediately. Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are expected to produce damaging hail, wind or rain.
