Wake County in central North Carolina... * Until 1015 AM EDT. * At 718 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Up to 2 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by showers and thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Raleigh, Cary, Louisburg, Wake Forest, Garner, Zebulon, Franklinton, Bunn, RDU International, Apex, Morrisville, Knightdale, Wendell, Rolesville, Youngsville, Purnell, Falls Lake Boat Ramp, Falls Lake State Rec Area, Falls Lake and Pilot.

    * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive and repetitive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of central North Carolina, including the following counties, Chatham, Durham, Granville, Orange, Person, Vance and Wake. * WHEN...Until 1000 AM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas, urban areas, and near small creeks and streams. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 508 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicate that between 1 and 3 inches of rain has fallen across parts of the area. While the rain has fallen over a long period of time, additional heavy rain could result in minor flooding in the advisory area. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected over the area.
